The “Helping Hands – 2003 Batch” group continues to lead by example through their compassionate and commendable assistance to the families of departed police personnel.

Thiru S. Ettiyappan (HC 32241), who served as a Head Constable in the Law & Order division at Choolaimedu Police Station, Chennai, tragically passed away on Friday, 18th October 2024 due to a sudden health issue.

Deeply affected by his demise, his fellow batchmates from the 2003 police batch came together through the “Helping Hands” initiative and extended financial support to his grieving family. A total of ₹28,16,000, comprising insurance documents and cash aid, was formally handed over to his family on 12th July 2025.

With the heartfelt motto – “As Helping Hands, we pledge our lives! May you rest in the shade of hope!” – this initiative reflects the deep bonds of camaraderie, care, and solidarity among police colleagues.

The dedication and sincerity with which late S. Ettiyappan served the force will always be remembered. This contribution offers his family a small sense of relief in their time of sorrow.

May such acts of unity and service spirit within the police force continue to shine and inspire.
