Ramanathapuram, October 18 —
On behalf of the Ramanathapuram District Police, a financial assistance event was held to support the family of a police personnel who passed away due to ill health while in service.
Mr. Muniyasamy, who served in the Ramanathapuram District Rural Police Force, had passed away a few months ago following health complications. To support his family’s livelihood and medical expenses, the Police Welfare Fund sanctioned a total of ₹1,50,000 as financial assistance — including ₹1,00,000 from the Family Welfare Fund and an additional ₹50,000 towards medical expenses.
The cheques were personally handed over by Mr. G. Sandheesh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram District, to Mr. Sethuraja, a family member of the late Muniyasamy.

Senior police officers, station heads, and fellow personnel participated in the event and paid their respects to the late officer, praising his dedication, integrity, and commitment to public service.
Speaking at the event, SP G. Sandheesh stated,
“Every police officer serves tirelessly for the safety and welfare of the public. It is our responsibility to take care of their well-being. The Police Department will always stand by the families of those who lose their lives or suffer health issues while on duty,” he said.
This financial assistance initiative not only reflected the compassionate side of the police department but also served as a source of encouragement and motivation for all police personnel.
