A heartfelt farewell ceremony was held today (31.07.2025) at the Greater Chennai Police Headquarters to honor 24 retiring police personnel, including officers and administrative staff. The event was presided over by the Commissioner of Greater Chennai Police, Mr. A. Arun, IPS, who personally appreciated their decades of dedicated service.

Among those retiring are 14 Assistant Sub-Inspectors and 10 Special Sub-Inspectors, all of whom have served the Tamil Nadu Police Department — and particularly the Greater Chennai Police — with commitment, discipline, and integrity for over 25 years. Their contributions have brought pride to the department and have positively impacted public safety and trust.

During the ceremony, Commissioner A. Arun honored each retiree with a traditional shawl and garland and presented them with a Certificate of Appreciation, acknowledging their exceptional service and commitment to the force.

In his address, the Commissioner extended heartfelt thanks to the families of the retiring personnel, recognizing their support throughout the officers’ careers. He advised the retirees to focus on their health and well-being in retirement and to continue cherishing time with their families.

The event was attended by Mr. Vijayendra Bidari, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Mr. D.N. Harikiran Prasad, IPS, Deputy Commissioner (Welfare & Estate), and Ms. G. Suppulakshmi, IPS, Deputy Commissioner (Administration), along with other senior officers and the family members of the retirees.

This farewell celebration stood as a tribute to the values of service, dedication, and the enduring legacy of the retiring officers in the Tamil Nadu Police Force.
