Today (22.07.2025), Thanjavur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mr. Ziaul Haq, IPS, visited various locations in Mayiladuthurai district to conduct inspections at key checkpoints and prohibition police stations.

🔹 He first visited the Nandalar Check Post, where he reviewed the functioning of the checkpoint and assessed the situation regarding the illegal smuggling of liquor from Karaikal into Tamil Nadu. The DIG ordered intensified vehicle checks and strict surveillance to curb smuggling activities across the border.

🔹 Following this, he conducted inspections at both the Mayiladuthurai and Sirkazhi Prohibition Police Stations, engaging in direct discussions with the officers regarding ongoing operations.

🔸 During his inspection, DGP Ziaul Haq IPS issued important directives, including:

Strengthening all border checkpoints to effectively prevent the illegal transport of liquor.

Identifying individuals involved in unlawful liquor sales and initiating strict legal action against them.

Enhancing surveillance at check posts using technology such as CCTV and ANPR systems.

Creating public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the importance of the prohibition laws and the consequences of violation.

🔹 Police officials assured the DIG that all directives will be taken seriously and implemented effectively.
