In a commendable green initiative, a “Green Path Park” is being developed within the premises of Palani Nagar Police Station in Palani Subdivision of Dindigul district. The project is being led by Police Inspector Mr. Manimaran, with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and creating a green and eco-friendly environment within the police campus.
As part of this effort, a wide variety of saplings—including fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and shade-giving plants—have been carefully selected and planted to ensure long-term ecological value.
To support this noble cause, the Palani Diamond Lions Club has donated and installed a protective fence around the park, ensuring the safety and preservation of the plants.

In a special plantation ceremony held today, Palani DSP Dhananjayan participated and planted sandalwood saplings, symbolizing the importance of green efforts. Following this, Inspector Manimaran planted karungali (blackwood) trees, while Sub-Inspector Vijay planted neem saplings. Various other species of trees and herbs were also planted during the event.
This green park initiative reflects the Tamil Nadu Police Department’s proactive role in community engagement and environmental responsibility. It not only enhances the biodiversity within the police premises but also spreads awareness about the importance of greenery among the public.
Once fully developed, the park will serve as a model for combining law enforcement infrastructure with nature conservation, offering a peaceful and sustainable space for all.
