A family from the Kankampatti area near Palani was safely rescued by the brave firefighters of the Palani Fire and Rescue Department after their car got stuck in deep mud due to recent heavy rains.
According to reports, a family from Kankampatti was traveling to the Ammapattiyan Temple located in the Periyakalayamuthur area near Palani. Owing to continuous rainfall over the past few days, the roads in that region had become heavily damaged and muddy. While driving through the area, their Maruti car got trapped in thick slush and was unable to move forward.
Unable to free the vehicle on their own, the family immediately contacted the Palani Fire and Rescue Department for help. Responding swiftly, a team of firefighters rushed to the spot. However, due to the severe muddy conditions, even the fire rescue vehicle could not reach the exact location.

Undeterred, the firefighters proceeded on foot, using ropes and rescue tools to pull the vehicle out of the mud. After several minutes of effort, they successfully retrieved the car and safely rescued all the family members without any injuries.
The residents of the area greatly appreciated the courage and dedication shown by the firemen, praising their swift and selfless act during such a challenging situation.
Officials from the Palani Fire Station stated that during the rainy season, road conditions can deteriorate quickly, and travelers should avoid unnecessary trips. They also advised that people should check weather and road updates before starting their journeys.
Thanks to the timely and determined efforts of the Palani Fire and Rescue team, a family’s lives and property were saved — earning widespread admiration from the local community.
