Based on the orders of the Tiruchirappalli City Commissioner and the guidance of the North Zone Deputy Commissioner, a special operation was carried out under the supervision of the Srirangam Assistant Commissioner. On 25.11.2025, a special team led by Srirangam Law and Order Inspector Thiru Thiruvanandham and Assistant Inspector Sundaram arrested five members of a drug pill gang.
During the operation, the police seized 4,000 drug tablets, two two-wheelers, and ₹3,200 in cash from the accused. A case has been registered at the Srirangam Police Station under Crime No. 947/25, Sections 278 and 123 of the BNS Act. The arrested individuals were subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
