Chennai: The 50th Tamil Nadu State Shooting Competitions, organised by the Chennai Rifle Club under the auspices of the Tamil Nadu Shooting Association (TNSA), were held at the Saragarhi Shooting Academy, Guru Nanak College, Velachery, from 6th to 14th September 2025.

The event witnessed the participation of 2,300 shooters from 62 Rifle Clubs across Tamil Nadu. Under the guidance of Dr. R. Dhinakaran, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Operations), the Tamil Nadu Police Shooting Team, consisting of 40 police officers and personnel from various units and led by Dr. R. Thirunavukkarsu, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Intelligence–Security), competed in both rifle and pistol events.

The police shooters delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 33 medals. Notable achievements include:

Dr. R. Thirunavukkarsu, IPS – Bronze Medal in 50m Pistol event.

Tmt. Maheshwari, Assistant Commandant – Gold Medal in 10m Air Pistol.

Tr. V.A. Mohan – Two Silver and One Bronze Medal in 25m Pistol events.

Tmt. S. Sivagami Rani – One Gold, One Silver, and Two Bronze Medals in 10m, 25m and 50m Pistol events.

Tmt. P. Kayalvizhi – One Gold, One Silver, and One Bronze Medal in 10m and 25m Pistol events.

The medal winners were honoured by Thiru G. Venkataraman, IPS, Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, in recognition of their remarkable performance.
