The World Police and Fire Games 2025, an internationally renowned sporting event, was held in Alabama, USA from June 27 to July 6, 2025. The competition saw participation from police and fire personnel from various countries, showcasing their athletic talents and competitive spirit.

Representing the All India Police Sports Team, five athletes from the Tamil Nadu Police Department made the nation proud with their stellar performances. The participating officers were: Mr. V. Dinesh, Mr. S. Arjun, Mr. B.Harikrishnan, Woman Police Officer Ms. K. Ilavarasi, and Ms. V. Saranya.

Together, they won a total of 11 medals:
3 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze,
bringing international recognition to the state and country.

In the Masters (age-group) category, Tamil Nadu’s achievements continued to soar. Under the leadership of Mr. Mayilvahanan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, a contingent comprising:
6 Inspectors, 1 Sub-Inspector,
1 Special Sub-Inspector, 4 Head Constables, and
3 Women Head Constables participated.

This team brought home an impressive total of 39 medals, including:
19 Gold,11 Silver, and 9 Bronze,
adding great pride to Tamil Nadu Police and the state of Tamil Nadu.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Director General of Police (DGP) and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, Mr. Shankar Jiwal, IPS, personally met with all the medal winners and congratulated them. He lauded their dedication and commitment to excellence in both service and sports.

Joining him at the felicitation ceremony were:
Ms. B. Vijayakumari, IPS, Director General of Police (Armed Police), and
Mr. Praveen Kumar Abinapu, IPS, Director General of Police (General).

Their presence added honor to the occasion, highlighting the Tamil Nadu Police Department’s strong support for athletic development and overall well-being of its personnel.
