A Social Justice and Human Rights awareness programme was conducted (23.11.2025) for the public and students of Peenchamantai, Jarthan Kollai, and Palampattu panchayat areas located in the Jawadhu Hills of Vellore district.
As per the instructions of the Chief of the Social Justice and Human Rights Wing of the Police Department, the event was held under the leadership of Vellore District Superintendent of Police Thiru A. Mayilvahanan, IPS, and the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Thiru Baskaran.


Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Anaikattu Thiru Nandakumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Social Justice and Human Rights Wing) Thiru Ravindraprakash, along with SJHR police personnel, jointly organised the awareness programme at Peenchamantai Government Higher Secondary School.
Around 400 people, including representatives from 48 villages, panchayat leaders, State Tribal Welfare members, students, and the general public participated in this programme.
The session covered various awareness topics such as the importance of education, employment opportunities, welfare schemes for Adi Dravidar and tribal communities, ill effects of drug abuse, prevention of child marriage, women’s safety, physical fitness, discipline, and general guidelines for the well-being of the people.


Additionally, 157 tribal students studying in the Government Higher Secondary School were provided with special sports track suits. Eleven girl students who participated in state-level sports competitions were awarded shields and certificates, while 15 students who secured the top three ranks from classes 6 to 10 in the quarterly examinations received certificates and gifts from the Superintendent of Police.
Pamphlets on tribal welfare schemes were also distributed, and midday meals were provided to nearly 400 participants, according to a statement released by the Vellore District Police.
