At the state-level 50th Annual Shooting Championship organized by the Chennai Rifle Club, which commenced on 06.09.2025 at Velachery, Chennai, two police officers from Trichy district achieved remarkable success.
Woman Head Constable Mrs. Sophia Lawrence, serving at Somarasampettai Police Station, secured a total of six gold medals — five in the individual category and one in the team category. Similarly, Head Constable Mr. Dinesh, serving at Manapparai Police Station, won a gold medal in the individual category, bringing pride to the district.
In recognition of their outstanding achievement, Trichy District Superintendent of Police, Mr. S. Selvanagarathinam, IPS, presented appreciation certificates to both officers at the District Police Office on 19.09.2025 and encouraged them.
