3 Notorious Bike Thieves Arrested in Tindivanam – 10 Stolen Two-Wheelers Recovered
In a swift and strategic police operation, the Tindivanam Police in Villupuram district have successfully arrested a gang of bike thieves and recovered 10 stolen two-wheelers, bringing relief to multiple victims across districts.
On the midnight of June 17th, unidentified miscreants stole motorcycles in the Sanjeevirayapettai area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Tindivanam Police Station. Acting on a complaint, the police, under the directive of District Superintendent of Police Mr. P. Saravanan, IPS, initiated an intense investigation.
With close supervision from Tindivanam Sub-Division DSP Mr. Prakash, Inspector Mr. Vijayakumar, Sub-Inspectors Mr. Selvadurai and Mr. Muruganandham, along with the sub-division special task force, reviewed CCTV footage and conducted thorough field inquiries.
The breakthrough came during a routine vehicle check near Aishwarya Bhavan on the Tindivanam National Highway. When police attempted to stop a motorcycle coming from Chennai, the three riders tried to flee. However, the alert officers chased and apprehended them. Interrogation revealed that the trio was directly linked to the June 17th bike theft and several other thefts across districts.


Arrested Accused:
Vinoth Kumar alias Poonai Kannu Vinoth (25), son of Thavamani, from Lingavadi, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District
Selva Sri Vatsan (25), son of Saravanakumar, from Othakadai, Madurai District
Prashanth alias Eli (29), son of Lingadurai, from Panangadu Road, Sivagangai District
Upon further investigation, police recovered 10 stolen bikes, including 3 from the Tindivanam case and 7 more from various other districts.
All three accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
