In a significant step towards police welfare, the REST (Web Portal for Week Off) was officially launched today by Dr. R. Stalin, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kanyakumari District. This is the first time in Tamil Nadu that a system has been introduced to ensure weekly offs for police personnel at the district level.

🟡 “Manam Thirandhu” (Open Heart) – A Platform for Open Dialogue

A special initiative titled “Manam Thirandhu”, where police personnel sit and interact directly with the Superintendent of Police, is being held daily at the District Police Office.

During these sessions, many officers expressed their desire to spend quality time with their families and requested the provision of weekly offs. Responding positively, the SP has launched the REST application to streamline and ensure this benefit.

🔹 Highlights of the REST App:

Police personnel can apply for their preferred weekly off days directly through their mobile phones.

The respective station inspectors will review and approve the requests.

Sub-division officers and the Superintendent of Police will also monitor and oversee the process.

This digital system ensures transparency and accountability in granting weekly offs.

The launch of this application has been warmly welcomed by the police force and is seen as a major step toward improving their work-life balance. This initiative is expected to be a model for other districts in the state.
