Nagercoil: Sub-Inspector Sumith Aldrin and Special Sub-Inspector Subramania Pillai Repair Dangerous Road Pit – Earn Public Appreciation

In Kanyakumari district, near the Nagercoil Collectorate, a drinking water pipeline laid under the Puthan Dam Combined Water Supply Scheme recently burst. The resulting water leakage severely damaged the road, forming a large and hazardous pit.

Although the municipal authorities repaired the damaged pipeline, the road surface was left unrestored. Over time, this led to repeated minor accidents in the area, especially during nighttime, creating serious safety concerns for both motorists and pedestrians.

Witnessing this situation, Traffic Sub-Inspector Mr. Sumith Aldrin and Special Sub-Inspector Mr. Subramania Pillai of the Nagercoil Traffic Regulation Wing went beyond their routine responsibilities to take swift, compassionate action for public safety.

The officers personally brought in soil and gravel, filled the pothole themselves, and ensured the road was made safe for daily commuters. Their timely intervention has helped prevent potential accidents and displayed an inspiring example of proactive policing and public service.

Their humanitarian gesture has been widely appreciated by the local community. Many praised the officers for their initiative and commitment, stating, “This act shows that real public service lies in timely, empathetic action — not just enforcing the law.”
