A zonal-level shooting competition for senior police officers was held today (20.09.2025) at the Coimbatore District Madukkarai Shooting Range under the leadership of Western Zone Inspector General of Police, Mr. Senthilkumar, IPS.
The competition was conducted in both the Pistol and INSAS Rifle categories. In both events, Dr. K. Karthikeyan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, secured the first place.
In the Additional and Deputy Superintendent category:
Pistol Division:
1st Place – Mrs. Bhoopathi, Assistant Commandant, Coimbatore 4th Battalion
2nd Place – Mr. Ajay Thangam, Assistant Commissioner of Police
3rd Place – Mr. Gunasekaran, Additional Superintendent of Police
INSAS Rifle Division:
1st Place – Mr. Gunasekaran, Additional Superintendent of Police
2nd Place – Mrs. Bhoopathi, Assistant Commandant, Coimbatore 4th Battalion
3rd Place – Mr. Gopalakrishnan, Deputy Superintendent of Police
The Western Zone Inspector General of Police congratulated the winners and presented them with trophies in recognition of their outstanding performance in the competition.
