Coimbatore:
As per the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a special Skill Development Training Programme for women police personnel aimed at preventing crimes against women and children was conducted at the Coimbatore In-Service Training Centre in two phases (Phase-I & Phase-II) from 08.03.2025 to 20.09.2025.
A total of 1,946 women police personnel — from constables to Women Special Sub-Inspectors serving in Coimbatore Range, Coimbatore City, Tiruppur City, and special units — benefitted from the training.

The programme covered topics such as laws relating to women and children, methods to handle crimes against them, investigative techniques, proper documentation of case records, dos and don’ts in POCSO and juvenile cases, awareness on women and child safety, rehabilitation, and government assistance. In addition, yoga training was provided to enhance physical and mental strength.
The valedictory function was held on 20.09.2025. Thiru. T. Senthil Kumar, IPS, West Zone Inspector General of Police, attended the event, delivered guidance to the participants, and distributed certificates to the trained women police personnel.
