Based on a secret tip-off that marijuana packets were being exchanged for sale near Kaappakkaadu within the Kandachipuram police station limits, the operation was carried out under the direction of Mr. Saravanan, IPS., District Superintendent of Police, and the supervision of Mr. Ravindra Kumar Gupta, IPS., Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The raid was led by Inspector Mr. Moorthy, Sub-Inspectors Mr. Kathamuthu and Mr. Deenadayalan, along with a team of constables from Kandachipuram Police Station.
While the police were secretly monitoring the area, a person named Vicky was seen waiting on a two-wheeler. Shortly after, five others arrived in a four-wheeler to meet him. Acting swiftly, the police team sprang from their hideout and apprehended all six suspects red-handed.
The arrested individuals were identified as:
- Vicky alias Vignesh (24), from Malavandhankal, Senji,
- Kumar (40), from Sanimulai Street, Senji,
- William (25), from Dattnagar Village, Vikravandi,
- Plumming (23), from Ayanthur, Kandachipuram Taluk,
- Akash (25), from Ayanthur,
- Mohanraj (24), from Ayanthur.
Upon inspection of their two-wheeler and four-wheeler, police recovered one kilogram of marijuana packets, 75 intoxicating tablets, a motorcycle, and a car.
Cases have been registered against all six accused, and steps are underway to remand them to judicial custody.
