In 2024, a house in Kuzhumur village under Sendurai Police Station limits, Ariyalur district, was broken into through the back door, and 20 sovereigns of gold jewelry were stolen. Based on the house owner’s complaint, a case was registered on 27.09.2024 at Sendurai Police Station.
During investigation, accused A2 Krishnamoorthy was arrested earlier, while the prime accused A1 Rajadurai @ Ramana @ Ramar (52), a native of Dindigul district, remained absconding.
As per the orders of the Ariyalur District Superintendent of Police, a special team was formed under the leadership of DSP Ravichandran, with the supervision of Inspectors Velusamy (Kayarlabath PS) and Gunasekaran (Sendurai PS).
On 02.10.2025, the special team arrested Rajadurai. From his possession, 228 grams (28 ½ sovereigns) of gold bars, ₹1 lakh cash, and a two-wheeler were seized.

Further investigation revealed that Rajadurai was involved in two theft cases at Kuvagam Police Station, one case each at Keelapalur, Ariyalur, and Kayarlabath Police Stations. He also has theft cases pending against him in Madurai, Madurai City, Coimbatore, Erode, and Sivagangai districts.
Following court orders, the accused was remanded to judicial custody.
Police Inspector Gunasekaran, SI Rajavel, SI Sarathkumar, Head Constables Arul Manikandan and Velmurugan, HC Senthil Murugan, and Constables Vinothkumar, Vetriselvan, and Rajendran, who were part of the arrest operation, were appreciated by DSP Ravichandran for their efficient work.
