In Villupuram district, police personnel from Highway Patrol Unit No. 5, operating under Roshanai Police Station limits in Tindivanam sub-division, were engaged in routine vehicle checks near Konakkampattu as part of a regular security operation.

During the patrol, the officers intercepted a suspicious auto-rickshaw and conducted a thorough inspection. The search led to the seizure of approximately 10 grams of ganja and 9 narcotic tablets from the vehicle. Two suspects involved in the illegal transport of these substances were immediately apprehended.

The operation was efficiently led by Special Sub-Inspector Balaraman, with the active support of Head Constables Manikandan and Ramamoorthy, who played a key role in the successful execution of the seizure and arrest.

In recognition of their alertness, commitment, and exemplary performance in this anti-drug operation, Villupuram District Superintendent of Police P. Saravanan, IPS, personally commended the officers and awarded them with Certificates of Appreciation.

The Superintendent emphasized that such swift and determined action by police officers is crucial in ensuring public safety and affirmed that similar strict enforcement measures against narcotics will continue across the district.
