A joint anti-terrorism mock drill is scheduled to be conducted in Tiruchirappalli district by the National Security Guard (NSG), Tamil Nadu Commando Force, and the Trichy District Police.
The exercise will take place on June 26, 2025, at the Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT), located under the jurisdiction of Navalpattu Police Station, and on June 27, 2025, at the Arulmigu Samayapuram Mariamman Temple, under the Samayapuram Police Station limits.
In preparation for this drill, a coordination meeting was held on June 25, 2025, at the Trichy District Police Office under the leadership of Mr. S. Selvanagarathinam, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Trichy District.
The meeting was attended by Colonel Angus Sharma from the NSG’s 27th Composite Special Unit based in Chennai, Additional SP Mr. Stephen from the Tamil Nadu Commando Force, and officials from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Revenue Department, Fire Services, Highways Department, and Health Department.
Officials have instructed that the public residing near the Ordnance Factory and the Samayapuram Temple areas be informed about the upcoming mock drill to ensure cooperation and avoid panic.
